Hiking
Hiking is a long-distance walk usually on trails or footpaths in the countryside. Normally hiking is done in a mountain or a rock. This was first done in 18th century for romantic purposes. Later this idea was spread throughout the world and now it has become very famous among travelers.
Camping is also a part of hiking. Since some hikes are very long it takes more than a day to complete. On such occasions, hikers set up camps in a suitable position to get rid of rain, animals and other treads. So hiking and camping are bonded together.
Different items are used while hiking depending on the length of the hike. Basically a map, compass, rainproof gear,
hiking shoes, a flashlight, sun protection instruments, a first aid kit, and a self-defense kit must be there with a hiker. Other than that it is very important to take enough nutrition items and water as required. So hiking is an amazing experience of adventure, leisure, self-satisfaction, confidence and sometimes romance.

Ella Rock
Ella rock is a one day hike from Ella town. The nine arch bridge is on the way to ella rock. It is better to start the hike early in the morning.
Horton Plains
Hortain Plains is a national park in Sri Lanka. The famous world's end is situated in the hortain plains. On a clear day even the ocean is visible.
Pidurangala
Pidurangala rock is located near the ancient rock of Sigiriya. It is a small hike up to the rock and a beautiful view of Sigiriya rock can be seen from here.
Adam’s Peak
This is some much more than a hike. This mountain is one of the sacred mountains in the country. This place is respected by all Buddhists, Christian and Muslims. If you visit Sri lanka do not miss the sacred foot print on the top of Adam's Peak.
Seven Virgins

Seven Virgins hill became much famous among people after the plane crash, 1992. Somehow this is some much hard and safety equipment must be used. The view of the top is really beautiful.
Wangedigala
Wangedigala is a very famous and it is one of the best in Sri Lanka. It is not that hard and the top can be reached by anyone. This place is very much better for a couple to enjoy romace.
Meemure
The rock is situated in an isolated village in Sri Lanka. The hike is more than two days and it is not hard for an experienced hiker. Somehow it is better to be careful when bathing in waterfalls and ponds.
Loolkadura
This is the first tea estate in Sri Lanka and there is a rock situated inside the tea estate. This is one of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka and it is worth visiting.
