Like every country in the world, Sri Lanka also has its own musical culture from ancient times. As a result of having been colonized by the Portuguese, then the Dutch and lastly the British, for a period of nearly five hundred years, Sri Lanka has been influenced by several eastern and western cultural traditions. Today Sri Lankan music is a combination of eastern, western and traditional music. So it has been a popular music culture among both locals and foreigners. As of today, Sri Lanka has a bunch of songs and musical products which can compete with the world music industry.

As of today in Sri Lanka, musical shows are holding especially in the weekends. Colombo is the main city where most of the shows are being held. Other than Colombo Negambo and Galle are the other most happening cities in Sri Lanka.
